Description
Under the general   supervision of the Information Systems Manager, insures reliable operation and communication of all servers and LAN/WAN systems including various electronically controlled systems at both LouisvilleInternationalAirport and Bowman Field. 
 
Responsible for troubleshooting, installation, configuration and monitoring of routers, switches, servers, firewalls, and various LAN/WAN equipment in the airside and landside terminal, on the airfield and in various Airport Authority buildings at both Louisville International and Bowman Field. Establish network users, user environment, directories, and security for networks. Maintain consistent backups of all data. Design, implement, and maintain server architecture. Monitor all servers to prevent problems and update hardware and software when needed to ensure reliable operation at all times. Perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems. Effectively and efficiently plan, design, implement network monitoring and management systems to support the LAN/WAN. Assists Computer technician(s) and/or System Control Specialist(s) with tasks as assigned.
 
These systems include but are not limited to email, document management, airport management, file storage, public address system; noise abatement system; telephone system; airfield pavement surface temperature system; 800 MHz radio system; flight information display system; security access system; airfield lighting control system; closed circuit TV cameras and recorders; fire alarm systems and various fire suppression systems; Dictaphone voice communication recording system; combustible gas monitoring and detection system; fuel system.


Experience/Skills
Must possess valid driver’s license. Microsoft Certification required.
 
Graduation from high school, with a minimum of 120 hours of training in software and hardware repair with extensive experience in network systems and server administration, or an Associates Degree in Computer Technology or a related field. Good oral and written communication skills.  
 
Must have the ability to lift computer equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Mobility to navigate office and install computer equipment.
 
 A minimum of 5 years of closely related work experience as a network administrator or technician in an enterprise network environment with at least 3 years experience installing, configuring and monitoring network and server hardware.
