Job Description:
This position is responsible for aspects of network administration including Servers, backups, desktop systems, communications hardware/software and office systems.

General Requirements:
Network administration which includes backups, security management, user account management, e-mail systems, office systems and applications support.
Supports server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications.

Experience:
Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Three to five years of increasingly responsible network administration and design experience on a medium sized network of Servers, desktop systems using current technologies.
Certifications a plus but not required.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2003 Server operating system, Microsoft Active Directory 2003, and advanced TCP/IP and networking concepts.
To provide support, build, and implement network systems across the enterprise; includes installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, associated software, and communication links; troubleshoot advanced network performance issues; and analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions.
Highly developed verbal and written communications.
Experience with Virtualization.
Maintain documentation for network Servers and services.
Candidate should be able to work as part of a team, as well as be able to perform duty assignments with limited direction.
Ability to administer a 170 node network including Firewall and VPN's.
Investigate user problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions.
Ensure timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability.
Investigate, recommend and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimize network availability.
Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
Document network problems and resolutions timely and accurately for future reference within help desk software.
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Maintain site licenses for entire organization.
Evaluate and/or recommend purchases of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software
Familiar with Microsoft SQL server 2000 and later versions.
Experience with network cabling installation and troubleshooting.
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires extensive work using a computer. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.
