Description
Responsible for performing daily systems administration; backing up systems, running peripherals, license management, maintaining software and hardware inventories, security maintenance passwords and logons in a network environment. Provide the second tier of problem resolution after the Technical Support Area (Help Desk) receives a problem. Provide technical support to other members to resolve cross discipline problems. Safeguard enterprise/system architecture to ensure flexibility, scalability, and business continuance. Problem resolution requires a functional decomposition of the problem, identification of the underlying cause, and the application of standardized practices and procedures to resolve problems. *Implements systems, configures networks and resolves networking problems. Evaluates requests for new and/or modified data networks, software and hardware. May perform quality acceptance testing and provide training. Participates in assessing emerging network technologies.



Experience/Skills

Basic qualifications:
BS/BA required; 2-5 yrs relevant experience

Seasoned knowledge of and ability to support the operations of assigned technology in a 24x7 environment. Good understanding of overall IT architecture, and interoperability of technology. Understanding of Cisco switches, routers, access points, monitoring tools and VPN technologies. In depth knowledge of IT methodologies, tools and procedures. Available for on-call rotation.
