DESCRIPTION
The Network System Administrator role involves all aspects of PC, Hardware and Software support including LAN and Internet systems, printers and telecom the for Motion Picture & TV Commission Environment.

Looking for an individual who is knowledgeable of our work environment, aware of our budget limitations and who understands our present and future needs. They must also provide the appropriate recommendations and support in a timely fashion. Our candidate must have strong knowledge and skill set for the system outline below.

This is a support position that will have variable hours per month. The work hours will range (as needed). There are no minimal number of hours.

Desktop support:
- Eight desktop PC CPUs in office running on Windows XP Operating Systems
- Virus Protection and virus elimination-software
- Hardware protection and hadrware elimination
- Email support
- General operations maintenance updates and support

Network support:
- Each CPU is networked through an additional Server CPU (located in our Copy room) running on XP Operating System, with Nortons Virus Protection supporting the individual desktops through the network.
- This must be maintained, in addition to the following services: Printing Services for each CPU are networked through the Server: HP 4250 (B&W) HP 4500 (Color) and Xerox 2128 (B&W/Color Copier/Printer) Printers may require Maintenance from time to time.
- On the Network, each user accesses a common drive (referred to as the K drive). In addition to the K drive, each desktop has it own private network drive (referred to as the G drive)
- Data on the K drive (approximately 35 gigs) is backed up via Backup Exec. each evening on a tape backup system and on an additional external hard drive

SKILLS
Windows XP, MS-Outlook, Networking Printing Services via XP, Tape Drive Backup, Symantec Antivirus, Hardware detection and elimination, Printer hardware maintenance, Configuration/troubleshooting PC junction boxes, Configuration/troubleshooting Phone switches
