Description
Monitors the network environments utilizing all prescribed utilities and tools to ensure a high level of service availability. -Adheres to set technical and administrative procedures/practices utilizing prescribed utilities and tools. -Escalates in accordance with set policies and procedures. -Works with domestic and international service providers/carries to resolve communications problems. -Bypasses or restores defective components under the guidance of senior staff members Initiates back-up scenarios for failed services when applicable. -Identifies and resolves data communications protocol problems. -Identifies and resolves internal voice communications problems. -May be required to perform other maintaining the plant technical duties/projects as assigned by team supervisor or department manager. -Remain abreast of current trends and developments in the industry through self motivated. development and participation in department training exercises.

Requirements:

Understanding of network topologies such as Ethernet, Token Ring, ATM, Optical,and SAN. -Hands-On experience in Analog, Digital, Optical (POTS -> OC192) transmission facilities problem analysis and fault remediation. -Hands-on experience with Routers, Switches, and Multiplexing, and salient hardware environments. -Basic understanding of protocol operation including host-to-host communications, data transfer, routing strategies, and network management. -Fundamental understanding of network/application protocol operation Async, BiSync, SDLC, Frame Relay, and definition within the OSI model including IP, TCP, UDP, SNMP, ICMP, and SNA/SDLC. -Knowledge of IP addressing, complex subnet masking, and routing protocols such as RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, and static routing. -Infrastructure awareness: 2 ? 4 ? 8wire, COAX, Fiber, db9 - db15 - RS-232 - V.35 ? 449 ? RJ11&45 Familiarized in voice technologies, 2&4 Wire, POTS, PLAR, Hoot&Holler. -Ability to analyze, concentrate on, and relay complex details. -Excellent verbal and written communication and inter-personnel skills. -Effectively communicate with clients, vendors and team members. -Strong customer service orientation and able to deal with a highly demanding client base. -Individual must be goal oriented, and be able to work with others to achieve goals. -Individual must be able to handle multiple interrupts and multi-task effectively. -Strong familiarization with Office administration tools Web Browsers, Word, Excel.
