Position Description
The candidate for this position will be a member of the Future Combat System (FCS) Network Systems and Software Engineering Team supporting design and development of requirements and architecture for Integrated Digital/Analog Voice and Video within net-centric environment. The successful candidate will lead a variety of tasks. System and Software Requirements/Architecture to define functionality needed for receiving and displaying video for FCS; understand the FCS video architecture including hardware and software. Develop source requirements for system-of-systems & platform capabilities and constraints. Develop operational use-case for the tenets of voice and video, and integrated context diagrams. Develop n-squared matrix for source-destination and element interconnectivity (per Use-case). Develop IP schemas for system voice and video design including development of routing tables (unicast and multicast) for global network. Task also includes software integration and system integration with IP based radios. Develop end-to-end voice design concept to include: Platform Internal Video Switch, Voice Intercom, and Platform Element Interconnectivity with IA Constraints Overlay. Develop end-to-end voice performance including detailed analysis of voice quality and latency. The candidate will participate in Command and Control System/Software Concept Development, Operational Thread Analysis, Mission System Architecture Development, Network-Centric Hardware-Software Integration. You will also conduct Network/Software Performance Analysis. The candidate in this position will work closely with other technical leads to gain an understanding of the existing system elements. The candidate will work in a multi-contractor, Boeing led, team environment, coordinating activities within the IPT and across program IPTs (Architecture, Software, Test & Evaluation and Systems Engineering.) Candidate will be an active participant in customer briefings, internal team and management meetings/briefings. This position will require travel and is intended to be primarily based in Huntington Beach, CA. Other Boeing locations like St Louis, and Seattle may also be considered for qualified candidates. Current Secret clearance desired.

ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 6 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 20 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 18 years' experience or a PhD degree with a minimum of 15 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Other Job related information
An ability to obtain an interim and/or final clearance (post-start) is required for this position. This position requires strong systems engineering architecture and design background with extensive software design, development and integration experience in the following areas: Must have strong understanding of networking concept including TCP/IP, sub-netting, VLANS, DNS, routing, switching, and OSI layered model. Must have network experience with dynamic or static IP addressing. Knowledge of VOIP architecture, familiarity with the following protocols OSPF, RIP, EIGRP. Familiarity with COMSEC and Crypto is a plus. IP Networking and Communication knowledge in TCP/IP protocol, OSI model, and QoS theory is required. Familiarity with tactical radios and internetworking technologies (routing, QoS) is desirable. Must have Knowledge of RF, military wireless, and be able to develop and implement test plans and procedures. Knowledge of SOSCOE is desirable. Experience in networking, especially in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networking and Quality of Service is preferred. Must have the ability to develop and implement algorithms to compensate for unique MANET behavior. A background in Linux, database design, XML and Object Oriented Design is also preferred. Ability to effectively work closely with program partners, Software Integration Leads and management is required. Work within multidiscipline teams in the resolution of system/software design and integration issues. Define system/software design approach and concepts to resolve system/software integration issues. Candidate should be a self-starter who is comfortable working in an ambiguous environment and has the desire and ability to provide technical leadership. Prefer degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Sciences. Prior Army/military is a plus.df-tc
