General Summary:

Autodesk Collaboration Services (ACS) is a pioneer at Autodesk bringing together a project/product management service (Buzzsaw) to help improve the value and efficiency of the entire building project/product lifecycle. ACS is a growth-oriented division that offers software solutions that are driving new revenues among the large market of building owners. The successful candidate will be joining a highly respected and fast paced team. Reporting to the Manager of ACS Infrastructure Services, the Network and Security Engineer is responsible for driving the architectural direction and implementation of solutions in Buzzsawâ??s global data center sites. This position offers an outstanding opportunity for a unique individual who possesses a solid infrastructure and enterprise systems technology foundation coupled with strong project management and planning skills. This is both a project based and high-level support position directing our partners/vendors in the maintenance of our Security and Network infrastructures. During the design and implementation phases of new initiatives, the Engineer will work with application and engineering teams. In addition, the candidate will help develop and define processes to hand-over to vendors to help ensure consistency in the management of infrastructure technology across Buzzsawâ??s global data center sites.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Architect global data center network infrastructures for optimal functionality, security and management.
  • Perform network functionality and security audits, generate detailed executive reports outlining risk, and provide technology recommendations.
  • Anticipate and research new network and security technologies for use with operational and business continuance data center sites.
  • Design various network environments within global data centers (production, staging, etcâ?:)
  • Define, improve and promote architecture and standards based on ITIL â??best practicesâ?.
  • Architect network and security solutions that meet or exceed our internal and external customersâ?? expectations by working closely with Customer Care, Product Marketing and Sales and by talking directly with the customers.
  • Track network dependencies of ACS products and service.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems as required 24x7 and serve as one of the highest levels of escalation for network and security issues.
  • Develop relationships with professional organizations, user groups, and industry trade groups to stay current with latest technology.



Requirements:

  • Must be experienced in leading technical network architecture development and participating in the deployment of large complex software projects.
  • Strong experience presenting proposals and recommendations to management, senior developers and infrastructure support personnel.
  • Senior level knowledge and operational experience on Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, VPN concentrators.
  • Solid experience using Alteon load balancers in a high availability production environment.
  • An advanced understanding of e-commerce ASP design and Internet Data Center design.
  • Experience in supporting a very large client base of external customers in a service oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with successfully completed projects.
  • Experience in designing, documenting and writing deliverable plans for complex implementations.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.



Desired Knowledge/Skills:

  • BS (or better) in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent background
  • Proficiency in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting in a multi-vendor and multi-protocol environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
  • Strong understanding of ITIL â??best practicesâ?
  • Experience with performing network functionality and security audits
  • Extensive experience with data center design and management
  • Strong understanding of security policy procedures, architecture and design
  • Strong Cisco experience required; CCNA, CCNP or CCIE certification desired
  • Strong security experience required; CISSP certification desired.
