Description

The NextGen IT Analyst is responsible for providing administration, training and support for clients NextGen Electronic Practice Management EPM and Electronic Medical Records EMR system. This position is also responsible for installations, upgrades, configuration, documentation and maintenance of software. Perform troubleshooting and issue resolution. Perform workflow analysis and recommendations. Perform report writing and application customizations.

Effectively educate and guide Core team, end-users, and new employees on software configuration and Front End functionality to software and ancillary applications.

Work with our Training Department to help organize and plan training sessions relating to the vendor release of new application functionality.

Assist with maintenance and evaluation of medical information system workflows and processes to ensure the value received from NextGen EPM and EMR is maximized.

Analyze and provide resolutions to application issues. Analyze current and future end user requirements, procedures, and workflow, in order to provide application solutions that support and improve operations.

Provide support to end-users with training and problem solving. Provide recommendations/consultation for departmental or implementation process improvements.

Process requirements for enhancements and/or new features with NextGen including ensuring new releases are assessed, tested, readied for release, and properly coordinated for release to the production environment.

Create customized reports and spreadsheets as necessary. Independently manage multiple priorities (ie customer sessions, follow-up questions, internal/external support, etc) while maintaining a high-level of service for internal and external customers.

Sustain detailed product knowledge for existing versions and new versions of software.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or Information Technology and a minimum of three years IT work experience (preferably in healthcare) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience with EPM or EMR in a hospital and/or clinic setting required.

Experience with NextGen Electronic Medical Records, MISYS, Cerner, McKesson, Infopoint or Practice One required. Experience with Microsoft SQL server and Microsoft SQL reporting services, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Office required. Must be proficient at setting priorities and organizing multiple tasks with limited direction.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, including ability to work with end-users, outside vendors, and management to resolve problems and implement new technologies.
Ability to track and manage multiple initiatives or projects, including strong attention to detail, is a key to success in this position.
Basic working knowledge of Client Server applications. Basic understanding of technical terminology.
