ORACLE/SQLServer DBA - Houston TX

Max Bill rate: $45/hr all-inclusive
Houston, TX
US Citizens/US Perm Resident ONLY
3 month opportunity

Candidates must have a minimum 3 years of current Oracle DBA experience and 1 years of current SQLServer experience.

Experience must include the following areas related to Oracle 8i, 9i and 10g systems on UNIX and Windows platforms and SqlServer 2005:

Additionally, candidates must have a working knowledge of Oracle and SqlServer Architecture and physical database design and development skills.

This person will have extensive involvement with team members, developers and business clients. Typical responsibilities include day-to-day database
administration, development, data modeling, software installation and problem diagnosis, determination and resolution related to Oracle and
SqlServer databases.

This is a highly technical position that demands a high quality, highly motivated expert who can think clearly under pressure and has the confidence
in their own ability to keep the database environment functioning at it s highest capabilities.

Candidates must have a minimum:

- 3 years of current Oracle DBA experience
- 1 years of current SQLServer experience

- Experience must include the following areas related to Oracle 8i, 9i and 10g systems on UNIX and Windows platforms and SqlServer 2005:

. Install and upgrade Oracle and SqlServer software.
. Create and configure instances.
. Database hot/cold backups, rman and database recovery techniques.
. RDBMS and application performance tuning.
. Tuning SQL statements.
. Knowledge of Windows and UNIX OS platforms and file systems.
. Oracle utilities, SQL*PLUS and PL/SQL.
. Knowledge of stored procedures triggers and views.
. Security management and how Oracle and SqlServer enforces integrity.

- Working knowledge of Oracle and SqlServer Architecture and physical database design and development skills.
- Individuals must have good communication and listening skills and the ability to document and troubleshoot problems.
- Candidates must be willing to participate in 7x24 hour coverage.
- This person will have extensive involvement with team members, developers and business clients. Typical responsibilities include day-to-day database
administration, development, data modeling, software installation and problem diagnosis, determination and resolution related to Oracle and SqlServer databases.
- Demands a high quality, highly motivated expert who can think clearly under pressure and has the confidence in their own ability to keep the database environment functioning at it s highest capabilities.
- BS in Computer Science is a plus.
