We are currently seeking an individual to perform the following job duties for one of our largest clients in the Banking/Financials industry:
Administration / Monitoring
. Scheduling of backups for 10,000+ servers across multiple Netbackup environments globally.
. Provide daily reporting to management and support teams on the status of backups
. Monitoring of Global Infrastructure, consisting of Netbackup Master / Media Servers, Copan VTL's, and Tape Libraries (Quantum, ADIC, and Storagetek) providing 1st line support, or performing escalation as required

. Coordination of Backup Scheduling through IT Driven Events (DR, Powerdowns etc).
. Escalating all non-backup client related issues to platform support teams, & following-up on resolution.
. Ensuring compliance & evidence as required for SOX & Audit.
. Review & if required resolve any issues highlighted through backup reconciliation reports (policy, retention alignment etc)

. Produce Performance & Capacity reporting as required for Budget, and future enhancements
1st Line Support
. Resolving all Backup Client related issues, liaising with Vendors and platform support when required.
. Investigate and resolve script initiated Database Backup Failures.
. Resolving all Backup Infrastructure related issues, liaising with Vendors and 2nd Line Support as required.
2nd Line Support
. Provide Support for Restoration of data, where data cannot be recovered
Projects
. Provide assistance and feedback in testing of new Backup releases, and architecture changes as required

At least 3 years experience supporting & Administoring large Netbackup environment

Essential
Netbackup versions 4.5, and 5.1
Netbackup Database Client
VTL Technology (preferably Copan)
Tape Libraries (Quantum, ADIC, & Storagetek
Medium level UNIX Admin skills
Medium level NT Admin skills
MS Office (Outlook, Excel, etc)
