Roles and Responsibilities:
Candidate will have experience as a datacenter engineer in the following: racking/cabling Servers, OS patching, Symantec NetBackup and Backup Exec, Altiris, pcAnywhere. Candidate will have some experience with VMWare as well as enterprise storage (EMC Symmetrix/DMX preferable). Candidate will assess system requirements for implementing and maintaining hardware, software and telecommunications solutions to provide required network infrastructure and service levels. Candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, documenting, debugging and implementing server hardware, software, and systems solutions across Microsoft and Linux platforms and architectures to support internal and external IT requirements. Candidate will review and troubleshoot the installation of hardware and implementation of layered software solutions and products to ensure that they meet the company or customer/client requirements. Provide customer support 7x24x365 for enterprise environments within the datacenter. Troubleshoot various server environments when issues arise and provide resolutions.Implement new customers into the datacenter, providing documentation and procedures based on functionality of the environment. Escalation of trouble tickets and good communication with 1st and 3rd level support while working toward a resolution. Ensure 24x7x365 availability for mission critical network and application services including tape backup processes. Follow chain of command. Fill out shift report.
