Are you interested in building what it takes to bring next generation wireless applications to our customers? The Windows Live Mobile Platform team is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Systems Engineering lead to support our growing platform.
This Operations Engineering Lead role combines elements of Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, and Lab Management. You will be responsible for 600 servers and the environment and people that maintain them. Your vision and skills will help define the foundation to allow others within Microsoft to leverage a common platform. Your ability to work in a diverse environment will be critical in helping the Windows Live for Mobile Platform achieve its vision.
Successful candidate requirements include:
5+ years working in an operations or engineering role
Knowledge and experience with Imaging, Virtual Server, SQL, and IIS
Strong network troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of network protocols, such as SMTP, DNS, SSL, ICMP, and SNMP
Experience with f5 LTM. GTM experience a plus.
Proven track record of Lab or NOC management
Strong people management skills
Ability to work across disciplines (Dev, Test, and PM) to identify solutions
Self-driven with good time management skills
Strong documentation and communication skills
Fiscal year budget planning experience a plus
Network Monitoring tools experience, SolarWinds and MOM a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft internal tools, such as WTT, VSTT, Product Studio and SOCTicketing desired
Experience with WebStore a plusdf-tc
