Operations Production Support

DEPARTMENT: Production Support Section of the Operations Division of ITS to perform the scheduling and monitoring in the area of computer operations.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (must have the following skills to be considered)

1. Two (2) years current experience working with CA-7.

2. Two (2) years current experience working with BMC Control-M

3. Two (2) years current experience with IBM MVS / z/OS using TSO/ISPF/JCL.

4. Two (2) years current experience with UNIX operating systems.



BACKGROUND

?? Datacenter provides computer scheduling and monitoring for mainframe and servers for a majority of county departments on a 24/7 basis.

?? Production Support Section has the responsibility of scheduling and monitoring over 3,000 production batch jobs on a daily basis.

?? Computer platforms that are supported are IBM and UNISYS mainframes and UNIX operating system.



TASKS

1. CA-7 IBM ???

a. Perform temporary job schedule modifications ???

b. Perform IBM/JCL override requests ???

c. Perform temporary setup requirements ???

d. Monitor CA-7 looking for bottlenecks and aborted jobs.

e. Restart jobs according to documentation.

2. BMC Control-M UNIX and Unisys

a. - Monitor Control-M. ???

b. Check for red jobs - aborted. ???

c. Restart jobs according to documentation.

d. Resolve and determine potential scheduling problems with the production jobs; restart or cancel the job(s) or call the programmer
