Robert Half Technology is seeking a Oracle DBA to join the Business Applications group of an International Education Firm located in Downtown Baltimore..

The Enterprise Oracle DBA is responsible for the implementation, administration and maintenance of enterprise Oracle databases and the environments supporting them.

Duties include: Create and administer RAC databases, develop effective backup and recovery processes, monitor and tune multiple Oracle databases in a 24 x 7 environment to ensure high availability optimal performance, implement database security; support technical and administrative developers working with Banner, Blackboard and other third party software, partner with administrative departments to design and develop programs and procedures to supplement and enhance the functionality of the system; Effectively troubleshoot complex user issues. Execute Ad-hoc information extractions and loads. Manage batch processes. Write scripts and use a broad range of tools/utilities to support database maintenance tasks. The candidate must be able to write and orally communicate effectively across all levels of the business technical and non-technical.

Experience/Skills
Candidates must meet the requirements below to be considered for position.

Candidates must have 3 to 5 years solid experience supporting production databases in a 24/7 environment with Oracle 8i, 9i and 10G on various platforms including UNIX, LINUX and Windows. Applicants must have at least 2 years hands-on Oracle10g RAC database experience with emphasis on Oracle clusterware, SAN storage managed via ASM, Oracle Flashback options and OEM Grid control utilization as well as fail-over and load balancing concepts. Must have experience installing Oracle Application server and administering it’s various components to support web based applications. SQL, PL/SQL, SQL*Loader, JAVA and SDLC. Strong Oracle skills that include a thorough understanding of Oracle internals, requirements analysis, logical/physical design and best practices is a must. Experience working with Linux and Unix Shell scripts. Applicants selected will be subject to a background check and must meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information.

  • Administration of development, test and production databases and servers.
  • Administration of the Oracle Application Server.
  • Provide day to day support of development and testing teams.
  • Write complex PL/SQL functions, procedures, packages, and triggers
