Work Experience Requirements:

At least 5 years of experience in Database Administration in Oracle 9.x, 10.x on various platforms (Unix, NT), and Unix (Shell) programming
Knowledge on RAC, Advance replication, AQ and Heterogeneous interfaces across the databases are required
Expert level knowledge of and experience with PL/SQL and related objects
Proficient with physical data modeling and Datawarehouse architecture
Proficient with Oracle SQL and tuning
Working knowledge of Sun Solaris, AIX, Linux, and Windows environments
Proficient with using Oracle Enterprise Manager (Grid Control) and supporting infrastructure
Proficient in using and tuning Oracle SQL*Net
Proven experience in supporting 24x7 high volume production OLTP databases
Excellent database performance tuning and capacity planning skills
Familiar with various monitoring tools and data dictionary views
Familiar with various database backup and recovery strategies using RMAN

Database Administrator - 5+ Years Experience

General Description:

Assume a database designer role during the development phases of the project; assume a production DBA role for all rolled out components and provide 24/7 support.

Primary duties include physical data modeling, database creation, maintenance, backup/recovery, and installing new Oracle releases and patches. Responsible for the organization, installation, and assessment of enterprise relational database management system software, multiple applications, and multiple database environments including hardware, network and interface implications.

Determine impact on current infrastructure
Apply necessary patches
Statspack/AWR Configuration
Listener Configuration

Setup capacity planning
Configure Change Management and version control
Configure all application specific alarms
Quest (Replication tools)
Shareplex

o Planning and creating of the database
New Databases
Determine and acquire physical space
Determine load distribution for oracle files
Determine sizing of memory components
Determine init.ora settings
Create Oracle instance and database
Create initial schemas with required objects
Manager database security and object access
Perform necessary data loads
Existing Database
Determine Logical storage parameters based on table/object utilization
Acquire and monitor database storage
Perform change management analysis on new objects and procedures
