Description
RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will be responsible for:
? Working as a senior member of a diverse team
? Working as a team to interface with NaviSite Customers and their applications development teams to implement the appropriate database technologies and methodologies
? Well versed in all aspects of designing, implementing and maintaining Oracle Database Systems with specific working experience as an Enterprise Oracle DBA (9i or higher)
? Experience should include the use of Oracle utilities and security maintenance, physical database design, capacity planning, workload modeling, software upgrades, backup and recovery, and long term strategic planning
? Experience in establishing and maintaining security and integrity controls in addition to formulating and monitoring policies, procedures and standards relating to database management
? Propose and implement enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system
? Working with UNIX engineers, Windows engineers, and Project Manager to improve customer satisfaction
? Maintaining and supporting internal and customer databases in a 24X7 production environment
? Responding to customer related RDBMS problems and inquiries
? Installing, configuring and maintaining database software, patches, upgrades and utilities
? Planning, leading and implementing the installation, configuration and integration of the RDBMS Software in relation with:
o Internet/Intranet applications (IIS, Apache, Netscape)
o Remedy Call Center/Trouble Ticket System
o Document Management Systems
o Internal business systems (billing, asset management, inventory, time accounting)
? Working with customer to define database layout, replication, storage management and backup and restore design requirements
? Experience with MySQL a definite plus.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

? 2+ years experience with the Oracle RDBMS
? Some SQL/PLSQL programming experience
? 2+ years with the UNIX or Windows operating systems
? Effective interpersonal and communication skills
? Time management
? Analytical thinking
? Meeting/workshop facilitation
? Some problem-solving
? Some understanding of internet technologies and business models

Candidate should have a Bachelor?s degree in a business or technical discipline. M.S./MBA desirable. Two plus years experience with IT focus. A positive attitude with a willingness to embrace challenges, new responsibilities and function as a member of a team. This position will report to the Manager of Performance and Capacity Planning.df-tc
