ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR / SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

SDS, a full service provider for the health information management industry based in Alpharetta, GA, is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator with extensive experience with Oracle databases and Solaris servers. Primary responsibility is for the health, administration and disaster recovery for production, QA and development of Oracle and Solaris databases. This position reports to the Data Center Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

" Monitor all production, QA, development databases to insure availability.
" Create, install, and implement any new Oracle database based on development requirements.
" Maintain backup and recovery procedures for all production databases and verify backups.
" Upgrade, migrate Oracle databases depending on requirements.
" Install new codes and programs to production.
" Install OS, Oracle Software and 3rd party software necessary for the operation of all Solaris servers.
" Monitor and maintain raid groups, files system, snapshots and Qtrees.
" Install, configure and manage all Apache/Tomcat applications.
" Monitor all file system allocations and usage. Prevent any file system from running out of space.
" Maintain backup and recovery procedures for all Solaris server.
" Resolve all software/hardware issues, replace defective drives, controllers, network cards, etc.

Experience/Skills
Summary of Qualifications DESIRED SKILL:
" 4-5 years experience with Oracle Database version 8i-9i.
" 3-4 years experience with Solaris 5.7-5.9OS/Hardware
" Oracle certified Professional 8i
" Solaris System Administrator 1
" Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
