Data Migration Technical Engineer - Open Source, Java, Oracle

Software Development firm that is stable and quickly growing has an immediate need for an Oracle 9i Database Analyst with great experience working on Linux platforms.

If you are a strong Open Source technical engineer with experience in Data Migration and Oracle, please read on!

What you need for this position:

- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
- Strong Open Source experience.
- Extensive experience with Oracle 9i or newer.
- MYSQL experience a plus.
- Strong working experience with many of the following technologies and platforms: PL/SQL, TSQL, ETL Programming, Java Web Applications Administration and Troubleshooting, Java development tools, Linux, Solaris, Tomcat, Apache, Websphere, OAS, CAS, LDAP, and Load balancing appliances.
- Excellent communication skills as there will be consistent client and team interaction
- Experience with one or more of the following ERP applications is a plus: FRS, Banner, Datatel's Colleague, Jenzabar, Peoplesoft/Oracle.


What you'll be doing:

- Data migration from Legacy systems to company Open Source Solutions including analysis, development, use of SQL and ETL tools, etc.
- Development of data system interfaces between product solutions and other enterprise applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve client and product issues; Document issues and resolutions in enterprise knowledge base.
- Collaborate extensively with all peers, product development, open source communities, and project/account managers
- Develop technical specifications for client customizations, product enhancements, etc.
- Work with product development and open source communities to design solutions that are robust and sustainable
- Work closely with engineers to specify and scope of new features and enhancements associated with custom client development
