HRMS Applications Support Specialist


We are currently looking for an experienced HRMS Applications Support Professional on behalf of a stable Las Vegas employer. This is a full-time position with EXCELLENT benefits!

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, plan, train and review the work of staff responsible for providing computer programming services relating to operations and functions.

  • Plan, direct and participate in the design, testing and maintenance of computer application systems.

  • Train assigned employees in programming methods and techniques and in the use of computer software and hardware; assist and train programmers in proper coding, job control language and design and documentation techniques.

  • Verify the work of assigned employees for accuracy, proper work methods and techniques and compliance with applicable standards and specifications.

  • Develop and maintain quality control standards for the programming staff. Provide in-depth analysis for enhancements to new and existing systems; define programming requirements and develop and revise standards for programming, documentation and quality control.

  • Develop and maintain computer systems design including designing screens, reports and programs; participate in database design; write and test new computer applications and systems; develop accurate time frames for assigned projects.

  • Modify, test and troubleshoot existing computer programs; analyze problems; make modifications to systems and individual programs as required.

  • Perform database analysis to determine the most effective database file structure; develop and implement new and improved database structures; monitor database performance.

  • Confer with staff from various departments to solve system problems; coordinate system activities with users to identify needs; write complex systems for user needs.

  • Assist other departments with program and operational problems; analyze causes of problems and design solutions; take corrective action.

  • Evaluate operations and activities of assigned system responsibilities; recommend improvements and modifications.

  • Prepare documentation for new systems and changes to existing systems including flow charts and system, program and user guides; ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
Skills/Experience:
  • Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science or a related field.

  • At least 3 years experience with Oracle HRMS.

  • Strong knowledge of Fast Formula.

  • Knowledge of LMS and workflow engines.

  • Expertise with 11i Business Suite Tool Set.

  • Three years of increasingly responsible systems analysis experience.

  • Knowledge of operations, services and activities of an information systems program.

  • Supervisory and training experience.

  • Solid understanding of the principles and techniques of various programming languages, database, complex computer planning and programming, on-line programming and programming documentation.

  • Good understanding of the principles and procedures of systems analysis, design, systems programming and documentation.

  • Understanding of the uses, capabilities, characteristics and limitations of computer systems and related equipment.

  • Experience organizing policies and operating procedures.
