Description
PETROLEUM ENGINEER NEEDED IN ANCHORAGE!

The successful candidate will be a part of the multi-disciplinary Heavy Oil Team.

The successful Petroleum Engineer will provide technical direction and technology planning needed to complete the technology development and subsequent trials within the designated 5 year appraisal program.
The Petroleum Engineer will also evaluate technology learning’s and make recommendations for the evolving the cold technology plan in order to arrive at a cost effective means of developing the heavy oil resource on a large scale. The full field Heavy Oil Development project, which is currently in the Appraise stage, is scheduled to begin preliminary design (Define stage) in 2012. This position will work closely with the Subsurface Development Team in the design of the technology program and advise the Pilot program Team on technology trials required, associated technical issues, operating issues and potential technical improvements. This position will report to the Subsurface Technical Lead who is responsible for delivering the Subsurface Technology Program through the Appraise and Select stages of the full field Heavy Oil Development project.
The mile Point pilot project activity includes 27 wells, 5 pad expansions, and 4 CHOPS well test facilities which total $350mm over a five year period.

Qualifications
High regard for HSSE principals, particularly as they apply to the surface processes in consideration
A thorough and comprehensive knowledge of petroleum engineering and operations
10+ years experience with upstream Oil & Gas sub-surface facilities
Able to communicate effectively with Subsurface team members to ensure depletion and business objectives are met in a dynamic setting with evolving understanding of the resource
Heavy oil expertise
Demonstrated understanding of Major Project common process (MPcp) and capital value process(CVP), particularly through the Define and Execute stages
• Ability to work well with third parties, especially contractors and partners with various disciplines
