Description
To review, analyze, create, and modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging, and documenting programs. To work with large and small company databases with the goal of turning collected data into useful, structured information. To understand the content and structure of existing databases in order to pull information that meets business objectives is a significant part of the job. To organize the data to provide information targeted to a specific goal, then refine and format the information into reports. To help create new databases, creating flow diagrams and database schema for storing and moving critical data.Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1.Development of Reporting Engines including testing, debugging, and documenting code2.Modifications to production environment of mailing programs, services tickets, and other non-order related applications.3.Have the knowledge of how to appropriately collect, store and move data and how to find a variety of relationships between the data vital to successfully accomplishing the job4.Write code for database access, modification and construction to include creation of tables, views, stored procedures, queries and modules5.Responsible for the organization of the output of work permitting queries, reports and modules to be found, repeated or modified, and easily reused in the future is a valuable tool and one of the keys to efficiency in this position6.Specifically responsible for designing, creating, maintaining, and updating the two IS Reporting SQL databases which are the data sources for major reports used by Operations; several key revenue reports and vendor market share reports used by Finance and many other recurring reports used by LMS, LMSP and LHP 7.Design and create the majority of databases used for ad hoc reporting throughout the company 8.Need to be well versed with company policies and business rules, corporate compliance guidelines, and Medicare regulations 9.Performing a variety of tasks under general supervision, must be able to work well both as a part of a team or independently, relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals10.Have a positive working relationship with and interact well with the Database Administrators, programmers, developers and other analysts 11.Regularly called upon to work directly with the project coordinators, managers, and directors of various departments within the company and members of senior managementDatabase analysis and design to include:12.Performing research and analyzing requirements13.Creating and refining conceptual and logical data models14.Identifying business rules for data models.15.Validating conceptual and logical data models with clients16.Creating effective queries to pull information from databases in an appropriate form 17.Manipulation and formatting the data in an appropriate reporting styleDatabase querying and maintenance to include:18.Determining the goals of the database19.Understanding the content, structure, data definitions and relationships of existing databases20.Creating reusable queries, report formats and user interfaces and appropriate21.Organizing reusable queries, report formats, and user interfaces for future use22.Performing coding tasks needed to manipulate and present data23.Creating, changing, updating, or deleting stored procedures, tables, queries, and indexes to ensure goals are met.Team and skill building to include:24.Keeping team leader updated on current projects25.Keeping appropriate people informed on key issues26.Working with other team members of varying technical expertise to achieve goals27.Providing feedback to other team members and supervisors28.Planning schedules and work projections29.Updating status reports and project tracking30.Maintaining and improving database skill set and helping other team members do the same31.Participating in all mandatory annual training and qualifications.32.Additional duties required as directed by the Director of Operational Support.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
