Part-Time Business Systems Analyst
Disney Consumer Products (DCP) is the business segment of The Walt Disney Company that extends the Disney brand to merchandise ranging from apparel, toys, home decor and books to interactive games, food and beverages, stationery, electronics and animation art.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
DCP IT is a technology service provider to Disney Consumer Products, providing a full range of IT services, including: application development, technology strategic planning, program and project management, business analysis, training, and infrastructure planning and support.
This is a casual Business Systems Analyst role that supports various lines of business within Disney Consumer Products (DCP). This position requires an experienced analyst with hands-on skills in software development methodologies. The candidate must have the ability to deliver well documented business and system requirements to enhance Portals, Security and Product Safety/Integrity systems. In addition, the analyst will provide “forward-thinking” solutions in anticipating future technical and business directions. The successful candidate will have used proven analysis processes to ensure a stable and predictable operating environment for the user community, which includes proper problem identification, timely escalation and resolution, and thorough testing of software changes; and can show successful experience in improving business value presented to global end-user groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Skills/Responsibilities
  • Drives analysis needs to resolve day-to-day production issues
  • Identifies and estimates service needs for moderate fixes/enhancements.
  • Works directly with users and/or Manager to develop requirements and testing specifications for simple to moderate system enhancements.
  • Demonstrates effective use of Business Unit system methodology and IT standards, including project methodology and change management.
  • Proficient at gathering, documenting, and verifying business, functional, and system requirements
  • Proficient in both written and verbal communications skills.
    Project Management Skills
  • Capable of interacting with the project resources: technical resources, functional experts, and business users.
  • Demonstrates an ability to meet project milestones and resolving multiple tasks simultaneously.
    Tools – Demonstrated proficiency in the below will be highly regarded:
  • Programming Languages – Java, ASP, SQL
  • Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Project, Visio, Rational Suite
  • Web Browsers – Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox
    EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related
    REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
    The candidate should have at least 5 years experience with business analysis and preferably 1-2 years technical experience such as project management, programming, testing etc.
