Responsibilities:
Candidate must have the following experiences:
Minimum 5 years experience with large scale integrated systems and DB2 database administration. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of the Ventyx EAM named Passport (Versions 9 and 10), Asset Suite (Version 6) and its proprietary installation methodology. Must have knowledge of CICS, VSAM, Unix systems services, SQL, QMF and Platinum.
Under direct supervision of management, major responsibilities include experience with the Ventyx Passport System and its support in a MVS DB2 environment. Must be familiar with the Passport System architecture which uses CICS and a thin Client - Portal J - running on Windows 2000 server with an Apache server using Tomcat for a Servelet engine while working with Internet Explorer. In addition, the candidate must support the upgrade and system maintenance of Passport . The Passport system provides critical enterprise resource management by keeping track of all work projects and their component tasks and requirements. It also includes the scheduling of skilled craft teams to fix problems, as well as the allocation, purchasing and warehousing of required materials. Complex procurement management, as well as contract management, is also provided through Passport.
Responsibilities Include:
Ø Set up of new DBA2 environments for the system
Ø Setting up and utilizing the Ventyx implementation methodology
Ø Resolving DB2 and Passport architecture problems
Ø Maintaining the existing new Passport development regions
Ø Provides DB2 and programming support to other team members
Ø Monitoring database performance and fine-tuning of tables, buffering, administering security, recovering tablespaces and indexes, creating new tables
Ø Programming in Cobol II & Cobol III
Ø Production support (24x7) and documentation of all tasks in accordance with Department of Education standards
Ø Installation of Passport and its front end, Portal/J and Foundation Architecture
Ø Migration of Passport versions
