Description
PLANIT Technology Group is currently seeking a PeopleSoft Portal Architect for a Permanent position with our client in Herndon, VA. This is an immediate need.

Responsibilities:
* Driving the overall technical portal strategy for internal and external facing sites including project justification and ROI.
* Providing proof of concept through extensive prototyping and present the same to project stakeholders and end-users, and propose technical solutions to the IT community.
* Acting as a technical expert addressing problems related to systems integration, compatibility and multiple platform integration. This includes guidance related to general and portal-specific software design, development processes, security, infrastructure, migration paths, and deployment best practices.
* Conducting design and code reviews of custom portal development.
* Scope and estimate level-of-effort for various portal development activities. Develops project plans, work assignments, target dates and other aspects of assigned projects and communicates this information to senior management and the business unit.
* Participating in full SDLC for each iterative portal release.
* Keeping current with trends and technological innovations in the higher-ed and IT industry, and makes appropriate development recommendations related to the organization's portal strategy.

Requirements:
* 5-7 years industry experience with at least 1-2 years as a Lead.
* Experience in high-performance portal solutions such as PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal and SharePoint architecture.
* Ability to identify portal solutions including collaborative spaces, information.
* System development life cycle (SDLC) processes, change control and documentation skills.
* Knowledge of portal features such as Content Management, Search, Security, Single Sign-On, Web Services and Links.
* Knowledge in Web 2.0, WSRP, and JSR standards.
* Strong communication, presentation analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal and e Exposure to QA and PM methods and tools is a plus.
* Higher Education industry experience is preferred.

Education and Certification Requirements:
* A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
