Our client is seeking a Performance & Capacity Engineer for a direct-hire position in Chevy Chase, MD.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Our client's Systems Operations Department s Performance and Capacity is seeking is actively seeking a motivated Senior Systems Engineer to perform capacity and performance management for multiple platforms.
- Some responsibilities include putting together quarterly capacity plans, helping resolve and monitor performance issues and creating capacity budgets.

Requriements:
- The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field and 10 years of experience in the areas below.
- Multi-year experience in performance/capacity management in the following environments: z/OS, UNIX (AIX/Linux preferably), J2EE and Client/Server.
- Must be able to provide resource bottleneck analysis and make performance improvement recommendations, especially related to CPU consumption, memory management and physical/virtual storage.
- Must be able to provide long-term capacity projections for various server environments.
- Must be able to support requests for performance/capacity reports quickly.
- Knowledge of Windows Performance monitor and Experience with MICS preferred.
- Working knowledge of z/OS WLM and/or AIX WLM
- Proficiency in HTML and SAS
- Ability to tune JES2 batch jobs
- Familiarity with RMF, SMF and Patrol highly desired.

- Exceptional quantitative, analytical, diagnostic, debugging and problem solving skills
- Ability to provide well-thought out and thorough technical solutions for problem solving and decision making
- Orientated in dtatistics for projection and forecast
