OVERVIEW:

The Network Management Control Center (NMCC) Project supports the IRS's Nationwide Network infrastructure. [XYZ] provides specific support to the NMCC in the following areas: Manages and maintains the NMCC website and provides database support for the Wide Area Network (WAN); [XYZ] utilizes CiscoWorks2000 to support the network inventory management function, for the IRS; Provides change management program function (CMTS) for the IRS Enterprise Network Staff; Provides support for Enterprise Firewalls, including installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance and daily support; Provides and maintains the Domain Name System for the national office area; Provides TACACS administration (Network Device Security) for the IRS.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Defines, designs and develops system requirements. Performs trade-off analyses of performance, life-cycle cost, risk, product ability, and other system or program requirements. Assesses architecture and current hardware limitations, defines and designs system specifications, and evaluates input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Defines system support requirements. Analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies. Conducts independent technical investigations in systems design. Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Provides daily support of TACACS users and administration. Provides daily second level support of CiscoWorks users and servers. Provides daily OpNet server support. Provides backup support for DNS.
