Based in the Morrisville, NC area, we are one of the fastest growing leaders in the development of auctioning and E-commerce software utilize by some of the country's largest manufacturing firms and retailers. Due to massive growth and demand for our products, we are in need to expand our Back End services department.

We are currently looking to hire for a Sr. PostgreSQL Database Engineer/Developer who will be responsible for designing highly scalable, highly reliable, very high transaction databases which manage and house our customers' product data so it can be syndicated across the various online retail channels including marketplaces, comparison shopping engines and search engines. We partner with many of the high profile companies in the online retail space.

Position Summary:
- Provide PostgreSQL-based application design and development expertise
- Perform database design and plan for database scalability
- Write reporting code in language of choice as needed
- Interact with application developers, give guidance, review code

Knowledge and Skills:
- Significant background in creating complex stored procedures and SQL scripts
- Understanding of database normalization concepts
- Scripting languages such as Perl, python, sh, PHP, etc.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to set goals, and achieve scheduled deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Required Experience:
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL database development experience
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on use of Scripting languages such as Perl, Python, sh, PHP, etc.
- Experience in a Redhat Linux environment (or other Unix/Linux)
- Experience in logical and physical database design and implementation
- Experience with database and query performance tuning
