Global Investment Bank located in Jersey City, NJ has a full time opportunity for an experienced Prime Brokerage Java Developer.

The Prime Brokerage Operations technology team is responsible for building and supporting applications and processes for the clearance, settlement, trade processing, reconciliation and asset servicing functions of Prime Brokerage. These systems cover a wide range of technologies and functions, and as a result of our projected growth, will undergo rapid change over the next 12-18 months. Job Description Prime Brokerage Operations Technology is seeking a strong Java developer to assist in the design and development of our technology platform to support the rapid growth of our Prime Brokerage business unit. The successful candidate will have over 5 years of development experience, using Java/J2EE and related technologies, supporting scalable, flexible, straight through processing systems for Equity or other financial derivatives products. A desire to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment is a must. The candidate will work with internal clients to analyze, design, test, implement and support various applications and tools. Candidates should clearly display a proven track record of success throughout their career, be highly motivated and possess excellent communication skills, while demonstrating the ability to articulate business and technical initiatives at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications 5+ years of solid working experience with Java/J2EE, Spring-Hibernate on a UNIX or Linux operating system. Solid grasp of object-oriented programming. Experience working with back office/operations business processes is highly desirable. Minimum 3-5 years experience developing multi currency, multi regional, flexible, scalable and robust applications, preferably supporting Equities or Prime Brokerage, using the following technologies: JSP/Servlets/Struts SQL/Sybase/Oracle XML, XSLT, HTML, AJAX, Perl SOAP Web Services Perl and Shell Scripting Apache/Tomcat/WebLogic J2EE App Servers Messaging protocols: JMS, MQ Series GWT Extensions Candidate with demonstrate knowledge of financial products, including Equities (Cash and derivatives), Fixed Income (Cash and derivatives), futures, options, repurchase agreements, securities lending, and convertible bonds will be given preference. Knowledge and/or experience working in Prime Brokerage is optimal. Responsibilities Work closely with internal clients (consultants and non-consultants) to understand needs, define requirements and provide business process automation consulting and solutions. Participate in the design, development, release and maintenance of various Operations initiatives including Asset Servicing, Money Markets, Settlements and Wires. Interface, collaborate and influence, as necessary, with other IT teams in the delivery of solutions, while demonstrating the ability to work independently.
