Description
Overall Job Summary:
- Designs, models, analyzes, and tests optical and electro-optical systems and components, including sensors, cameras, and state-of-the-art optical inspection equipment.
 - Conducts research and development into phases of physical optics and geometric optics, optical inspection system alignment, optical inspection system maintenance, calibration, and mathematical modeling.
- Applies research of complex optical systems to achieve desired optical manipulations.
 - Develops component specifications, tolerances, computer simulations and tests procedures for electro-optical systems and components.
 - Uses design-to-cost models, tolerancing analysis, and other methods to assure optical design requirements met. 
- Aids in research and analysis of mold tooling in the development of complex optical designs.

Minimum Education Requirements: Degree in Engineering field (BSEE, BSME, BSOE)

Minimum Experience Requirements:
- BS 15 yrs., MS 12 yrs., PhD 9 years in related field of process, product, and automation.
 - In addition to minimum, 5 years of experience in medical device manufacturing with biomedical products including IOL or contact lenses or advanced optical elements including aspherics, torics, and multifocal lenses is desirable.
