Principal Engineer: Protocols and Applications Group
The ideal candidate will have a good technical background and previously worked voice packetization.
The candidate should have in-depth understanding of issues surrounding voice packetization and has a good understanding of vocoders.

Primary Responsibilities
Define the voice packetization architecture for the system
Understand the various nuances of various radio protocols and decide what is sent over RTP and what is sent over a reliable control channel
Understand the issues surrounding the delivery of high quality voice over data and circuit switched networks
Define voice architecture at the node level for circuit switched networks
Interact with the radio protocol expert to determine the right architecture
Lead a small team of highly motivated individuals
Development responsibilities include design, documentation, integration, and testing

Required Skills/Experience
10+ years of industry experience
5+ years experience with Linux kernel
Worked on system software for carrier grade systems
In-depth understanding of RTP
Experience with various codecs
Strong C/C++ background

Preferred Skills/Experience
Good understanding of SIP/H.323
Good understanding of radio protocols such as P25, LTRnet, SmartNet, SmartZone, SmartTrunk

Educational Requirements
Bachelor Degree manditory.
