eConsultAmerica is a preferred vendor supplier on retainer with a a Fortune top 500 company is a dynamic global corporation operating at the leading edge of commercial and military aviation, aerospace systems, climate control, elevator design, security and fire protection as well as hydrogen fuel cell development. Our client is seeking an experienced and savvy Principal,/Staff or Senior Electrical Engineer/Scientist. This position will be based in Hartford, CT. POSITION DETAILS
The candidate is expected to interact with business units to enhance existing programs, create opportunities including the acquisition of contract awards, assist in setting strategic direction, and provide leadership to efforts in the area of design and control of power electronic products and systems for a large range of our client???s products. Additionally, this individual will be called upon to outline future business opportunities and to provide technological and business solutions in response to our client???s business unit requirements.

The candidate must be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, multinational team environment focused on innovation and be able to partner with leading worldwide institutions (university, government agencies, and national labs, professional organizations) to meet organizational objectives. The candidate will have exceptional communication skills, capable of interacting with senior management while also being able to mentor junior members of the technical staff. Additionally, the candidate must be able to provide timely, accurate and detailed reports and presentations. The successful candidate will be expected to:

* Provide technical leadership and direction and serve as a technical resource to others, including being a member of technical review boards.
* Act as principal investigator, leading multidisciplinary teams focused on creative, integrated solutions for business and technical challenges in power electronic, electrical machines and actuators, integrated alternative energy systems and power grids.
* Identify and champion promising technical innovations for Business Units through the establishment of university, national labs and other external partnerships with world-class institutions.
* Source and evaluate new technology for our client; create and leverage internal and external partnerships; create opportunities through the acquisition of contract awards.
* Foster development of creativity and technical excellence in others.
* Author technical papers; be active in internal and external networks.

Experience/Skills
Minimum or M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 4 years of experience or PhD with exceptional publishing and academic record in disciplines as outlined above.

Expert knowledge with industrial or academic experience post M.S./PhD, as outlined above, in the areas of design, modeling, analysis, simulation and control of power electronic equipment, energy storage, drives, sustainable energy sources and complex electrical and power systems. Particular areas of expertise include semiconductor power switches, their integration and packaging, converter topologies, design of integrated magnetic structures, thermal management, control, fuel cells and batteries, renewable energy sources, electric drives, electromagnetic actuators and electric machines, electromagnetic emission and interference, and power quality.

Experience with modeling for control, analysis, and hardware-in-the-loop testing is highly desired.

The candidate must have a significant portfolio of peer reviewed and refereed publications in the field of power electronics. The job requires peer recognized achievement and leadership in the area power electronics design, including modeling and prototyping as well as controls. A specific list of publications with title, date and forum must be submitted.

The candidate must possess technical expertise in models of performance, with both electrical and thermal perspectives, in hardware/software co-design of power electronics, and in design process development and in prototyping and validation.

The candidate must demonstrate hands-on implementation skill in integrated multi-physics modeling and design of variable speed drives and should possess experience in integrated alternative energy systems with existing power grids.

Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams to successfully achieve desired technical outcomes within time and budget constraints.

Demonstrated ability to write proposals and win external funding/contracts/grants.

Record of technical contributions, including patents and publications in refereed technical journals.
