Position Title: Process Engineer (Six Sigma Black Belt)

Duration: Temp to Hire

Location: Fairfax, VA


DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the Corporate-wide design and implementation of LSS strategy, methodology, and programming by guiding the organization in addressing quality from a strategic business perspective with focus on statistical problem solving as a means for driving business results.


Provides LSS Executive and Champion consultation that will help drive the establishment of a continuous process improvement culture.


Develop LSS Leadership Board and structure, determine required skills, support the recruitment and hiring of qualified individuals and mentor team members in support the rollout of LSS throughout our client.


Lead and develop overall Black and Green Belt training program as well as execute program by delivering to Black Belts hands-on training, mentoring and guidance in LSS methodologies, technical proficiency, and execution.


Ensure that chosen LSS projects, including DMAIC and Design for LSS of product and process quality, support corporate and business strategy and meet applicable internal and external standards, policies, and regulations


Responsible for the attainment of annually established corporate-wide LSS improvement goals such as reduction in cost of quality, operational streamlining, engineering productivity enhancements, etc…


Communicates status cross-functionally via publishing metrics that accurately identify current performance to key stakeholders



REQUIRED:
10+ years of experience in Engineering (Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Management with work experience emphasis in Quality Systems, Process Control, Project Management)


REQUIRED SKILLS:

10+ years experience in a corporate business environment, including prior experience in project management, leading productivity initiatives, driving organizational/cultural change and documentation across various segments of the enterprise.



DESIRED:
Masters Degree in LSS Black Belt or Quality or Process Engineering


DESIRED SKILLS:

Certified Master Black Belt and experience in the implementation of Lean principles and DMAIC/DFLSS preferred

Masters degree desirable but not required.

Outstanding project management skills - Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects' critical path towards business deliverables, under tight deadlines.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills that support Lean Thinking and the statistical rigors of Six Sigma.

Strong Computer literacy/I.T Skills including PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Project as well as Minitab or its equivalent.

Experience communicating with business leaders and ability to influence and gain commitment at all organizational levels.

Strong customer focus.

Strong commitment and accountability to execute project deliverables on time.

Strong interpersonal, coaching & influencing skills at all levels across the business.

Independent mindset with strong negotiation skills.

Committed self-motivated individual with a proven ability to execute.

Process thinking - ability to define inputs, process steps and outputs
