Position Details
The chosen candidate will be responsible for all technical and administrative service aspects of our Device Relationship Management (DRM) on the Cataract and Refractive products within the Global Product Support organization. Candidate provides technical support on new product development. Creates verification and validation process and documentation for new product development. Responsible for maintaining system configuration changes, programming and integrity of the Axeda software platform environment including field servers and agents. Develops and implements remote software upgrade standard operating procedures and execution plans. The technical source for connectivity solutions on our devices. Develops metrics and delivers measurement reports for operational planning and strategic development of DRM application in our surgical business. This position provides the technical knowledge for identification, adaptation and creation of Device Relationship Management (DRM) product offerings in support of the Smart Services Product Manager.

Responsbilities
Provides technical support for connectivity solutions and repair advice for field Service personnel on devices. Directly supports remote service capabilities of refractive, diagnostic and cataract/VR products and perform file download, data analysis and remote service solutions in synchronization with Service engineering and field service support to customers. Responsible for development of remote user skills to raise effectiveness and efficiencies of our support functions.

Develops metrics and reporting tools for key Smart Services/TruLink parameters including, but not limited to, connectivity, usage, call reduction, call resolution, financial impacts and remote upgrades as
examples. Reporting tools support includes internal and external customers. Provides management with performance trend analysis derived from metrics data on scheduled basis.

Develops, configures and programs notifications, alarms and new features and enhancements for the Smart Services. Prepares technical improvement notification and enhancement functions and instructions to the user base, to include customer offerings. Provides technical information changes, policy and process improvements to the Global Training Team for inclusion in training courses.

Interfaces with R&D and Engineering on new product development. Develops Smart Services verification and validation processes for new and enhanced product, both Cataract and Refractive. Schedules and executes verification and validation tests in support of product development and provides test data for project documentation.

Responsible for daily operational structure, organization and resource assignments and responsibilities. This includes, but is not limited to Device creation, User group creation, administrative personnel training and
error corrections.

Experience/Skills
Bachelor's degree- preferably in Engineering (Medical or Software) is required.
2 years or more experience in medical devices or medical environment.
Software development concepts / knowledge is mandatory in this role.
Database administration concepts and report generation and data analysis is required.

Special Skills
Background in Medical Electronics or IT Technology (systems engineer), Business skills, communication and interpersonal skills with customers and field service personnel by phone, written correspondence and
face to face.

Specialized Training
Axeda Interface / Builder, Office Tools, MS Project, XML Programming is required.
