We have an immediate need for a Production Support DBA who has experience with OLAP and OLTP.

JOB DESCRIPTION
CANDIDATES PLEASE NOTE: ONLY APPLY IF YOU MEET ALL OF THE REQUIRED SKILLS. MUST have experience in both OLTP databases and OLAP/data warehousing.

The Production Support DBA is responsible for monitoring and
administrating critical production decision support systems, (DSS) and
operational databases and associated systems. The position requires
monitoring of data transformations and periodic data loads. It consists
of working with senior application developers to document and implement
data models, hardware/software configurations for Intranet applications
and executing production scripts. The DBA is responsible for
implementing effective use of database replication, security, SQL server
clustering, and data warehousing solutions. They ensure management of
the disaster recovery plan and availability and are responsible for
database monitoring, performance tuning, installation and configuration,
back-up and recovery, and capacity planning.

Process Responsibilities

Executing database maintenance scripts on an Ad hoc basis.
Monitoring scheduled jobs and DTS packages and logging and reporting
errors or anomalies.
Maintaining database users access permission, monitoring Datawarehouse
daily activities.
Maintaining relational databases on SQL Server 2005 and OLAP databases
on Microsoft Analysis Services Server.
Monitoring database performance, repairing deadlock errors, executing
maintenance packages, monitoring space and updating index statistics.
Implementing hardware changes and configurations.
Monitors and manages database backups, logs, and journals; installs,
maintains, and upgrades database software; restores and/or recovers
data as required
Monitoring hardware configurations and performance.
Ensuring hardware and software has appropriate service packs and bios
upgrades as necessary.
Supporting users to access Datawarehouse data by using Excel as well as
maintaining users access security.
Creates, procures, and maintains various database related documents such
as job schedule and the Data Warehouse Task and Procedures document

Required Skills:

3 -5 years experience as DBA on MS SQL Server.
Experience with Windows 2003 administration including clustering.
Knowledge related to computer hardware including networks and storage
devices.
Ability to understand large data models quickly.
Experience in replication and data transformation.
Strong knowledge of database architectures.
Must have experience in both OLTP databases and OLAP/data warehousing
Knowledge of Transact-SQL and Stored Procedures.
Strong knowledge using replication and data transformation, (DTS).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Work well in a team environment.
Experience with Internet Information Server (IIS) helpful.,
