Job Description:
Pro-actively monitor the critical application and provide Real Time application support to eliminate or avoid customer impact. Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems and outages in production, UAT, and QC. Support application releases and other software updates. Perform risk review of production deployments. Manage and investigate trouble tickets that were opened to reflect system/software defects. Write production monitoring scripts. Field technical calls from EBOC and customer service for Production and UAT issues. Support data center in resolving patch install issues. Support weekend maintenance activity. Willingness or ability to work different shifts is key. Should respond when escalated to at any time, in response to a customer impacting outage (24/7).
Basic requirements:
Should have extensively worked in supporting large environments spread across datacenters.
Excellent communication/telephone skills : should have good interpersonal and report writing skills.
Good understanding capacity planning.
Analytical mind to diagnose and quickly resolve issues.
Basic banking knowledge (preferably from a banking or finance background).
Good understanding of software development of Web based 3-tier applications.
Has previously managed a team, or has been a team lead in a banking or finance application.
Project management skills.
Required skills:
UNIX (solaris) and Win2k/2003 support skills.
Experience in writing SQL queries and scripts Working knowledge of Websphere application server, Actuate, IBM MQ, ConnectDirect, HTTPS and FTP.
Scripting knowledge (unix Shell Scripting and vb.net would be an advantage) Ability to read and interpret logs.
Understands AbInitio and Tibco.
Knowledge of COM+, BO crystal reports.
Building and supporting 3-tier environments.
Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking architecture.
