ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Manageability Services Project Manager is responsible to bring world class project management methodologies to bear on Manageability Services engagement process. Their activities span solution development, validation, implementation and final customer acceptance along the Manageability Services engagement process timeline. Depending on size and complexity, the MSPM may be assigned to one or more customer engagements. Their primary responsibilities will include:

• Develop in depth project plans using industry accepted best practices and tools;
• Work with Sun and iForce partner delivery management to align skills to required deliverables and gain commitment for their involvement along the engagement plan timeline.
• Work with the Manageability Services Delivery Manager to ensure their involvement and commitment to the engagement plan and success criteria
• The MSPM works directly with the MS Engagement Specialist, Manageability Services Delivery Manager, the Subcontractor Manager, t he proposal team, the customer organization, and the GSO Account Manager, to ensure a smooth and seamless transition of Sun resources into the account.
• Establishes costs baselines for Manageability Services engagements
• Develops a database of cost baselines for reuse.
• Manages exceptions related to project plan; escalates as necessary

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:

• 6-8 years experience in IT field
• 3-5 years project management experience
• PMI / PRINCE2 certification (or similar experience)
• Direct or indirect commercial data center experience helpful

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

• Have working knowledge of Utility, Grid, N1 Architecture and other major services strategies at Sun.
• Possess awareness level knowledge of IT Process and Automation solutions,
• Have a current and appropriate level of government security clearance that meets eligibility requirements for access to classified information (as appropriate).
• Have general understanding of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) concepts; must have the ability to execute against these concepts in real customer situations.
• Have general understanding of day-to-day data center management
• Possess excellent organizational skills
• Possess strong negotiation skills
