SPECIFIC JOB CONTENT

Responsible for Supply Chain business process re-engineering, IT project portfolio management and working with IT teams to configure and enhance systems to match business process requirements. This includes identifying opportunities with as-is processes and to-be solutions founded on best practices.

While this position has an IT focus, business solutions experience is required and critical to this position. The ideal candidate will have a depth of experience in Supply Chain as well as experience in delivery IT projects to solve business pain points.

BASIC FUNCTION

Kohler Company's Corporate Information Technology (CIT) organization is a corporate staff function responsible for Information Technology across a global organization. The implementation portion of CIT, called Business Solutions, is a matrix organization. Business Solutions is responsible for coordinating IT & business process re-engineering activities within the various Kohler business units. This position is part of Business Solutions. The Program Manager manages business unit demand, one axis of the matrix organization, while the SAP development team provide supply in terms of resources to complete projects, the other axis of the matrix organization.

The Program Manager will serve as an internal consultant and Information Technology liaison to the assigned business unit. The position will require skills to optimize business processes and enable technology solutions to support these processes. In addition, provide guidance on the design and implementation of computer systems to increase business effectiveness, solve problems and create new opportunities to assist in the achievement of Kohler business unit goals. As necessary, assist or provide project leadership including effective leadership, process re-design, change management, system implementation activities and coordination of project teams. This may include responsibility for the preparation of high-level systems specifications, user and systems test criteria and management reporting. Business solutions and control for major projects will include directing, scheduling, motivating and coordinating the activities of information systems personnel, business unit personnel, and vendor personnel assigned to a specific systems project. The manager will work with business unit management and the business unit project leaders to determine system objectives and solutions. This position has wide latitude for un-reviewed action and decisions relative to system design and project management. This position requires supply chain business process knowledge and re-engineering skills, an ability to lead complex projects, and handle more than one significant project at a time. Good general business knowledge is required to operate effectively in this position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

This position requires a strong knowledge of business process re-engineering. At least 10 years of relevant Supply Chain experience is required. Experience either within a formal IT organization or as a systems implementation or process improvement project leader within a business unit is also required. Knowledge of SAP is a plus. Significant project leadership experience is required with a history of successful medium to large-scale projects. Training in Six-Sigma or other process improvement methodologies would also be a plus. Ability to build trust, set high standards of performance, focuses on the end customer and drive continuous improvement are required.

A candidate with a Masters in Business Administration is preferred because of the exposure to conducting advanced business case studies. A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or Computer Science is required.

This position will require 25%-35% travel for a maximum of 2 weeks at a time since the business units have multiple locations away from the corporate headquarters in Kohler, Wisconsin.
