Programmer / Analyst

Stevens Capital Management LP specializes in developing and implementing sophisticated investment strategies for a $3 + billion hedge fund. We are located 20 miles from downtown Philadelphia, and, as we expand we are looking for talented and motivated individuals for the following position:

Programmer/Analyst

The purpose of this role is to develop, optimize and maintain various applications to support a research team that is devising and testing new approaches to trading.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Enhancing and maintaining trading applications
• Developing new applications in a variety of programming languages such as C, C++ and Perl, including using proprietary tools.
• Implementing Unix scripts
• Responsible for data flow from in-house data group

• Degree in Computer Science or closely related field
• C or C++ programming experience
• Experience using UNIX and/or Linux systems and scripting
• Knowledge of Java an asset
• Flexibility in a variety of programming languages
• Familiarity with SQL, Sybase, and relational databases
• 2-3 years experience, co-op terms accepted as experience
• Strong interest in the financial markets is an asset
