Programmer/Analyst =E2=80=93 Contract Opportunity

CDI is looking for a Programmer/Analyst to work in Columbus, OH. This position requires 24x7 on-call responsibilities, frequent weekend, and evening work, travel to data centers off-hours, and in-depth, complex problem resolution skills. Must work off-hours and weekends to implement changes to or resolve problems with servers. The weekends rotate depending upon how many people are on the team.
Responsibilities include:
Hardware knowledge (preferably HP/Compaq and IBM hardware).
Building new servers as required (as part of new projects or server consolidation/refresh effort).
Provide Intel server technical support, hardware support, and system administration, for a commercial outsourced account.
Supporting over 2900 servers, running the NT/Windows/Linux/VMware/Netware Server operating systems, and associated products.
Will be involved in installation, maintenance, technical planning, and upgrades of OS software, as well as other software products required by the customer.
Will maintain hardware configurations, respond to trouble tickets, and adhere to all standards and processes (esp. security, change, and problem management).
Skills/qualifications:
Best candidate would possess skills in Linux, and/or VMware ESX.
Microsoft clustering experience.
Windows 2000/2003 experience.
Other:
Ideal candidate will have Intel skills, along with experience in MS Clustering, VMware ESX, and/or Linux.
Scripting skills would be a real bonus!!
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Professional commitment to customer satisfaction and teamwork.
Must possess excellent problem solving skills.
Must be flexible, dependable and able to multitask with priority.
Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner under very stressful situations.df-tc
