Genesis10 has an opportunity for a Programmer Analyst.
**Note..W2 only; No Third Parties..US Citizen/Green Card Holder only.
Project Background:
The Pubs (aka LORIS Rewrite) project entered development in June, 2004. The first phase of the project is scheduled for implementation in December, 2004. The second phase is tentatively scheduled for implementation of March, 2005. Submitted change controls, etc. may postpone phase II's implementation slightly. Analysis is underway to determine the impact of change controls, etc on the March, 2005 implementation.
The immediate need is for a "programmer / analyst" type (stress on "analysis") of individual to provide additional detail to the design phase developed requirements document (i.e. greater detail of the requirements, additional interviewing of the business unit to obtain greater detail to the requirements and / or answer developer questions as they arise). The analysis function will also create, update, and maintain project related documentation per client's standards (i.e. CDP - Comprehensive Delivery Process). Once these analysis activities are complete the individual will provide programming support utilizing the technical skills identified in this req. During the programming activities, this individual may be called upon again to provide adhoc analytical activities on an "as needed" basis.
Although this resource will eventually be utilized as a developer / programmer, will currently be acting as a business consultant / business analyst performing the following duties:
Data Base Modeling:
1. Facilitates changes to the delivered Data Model based upon the development efforts of the developers. Ensures that the development mandated database changes are communicated to IAM (Information Analysis and Modeling) and the DBAs.
2. Maintains a development team available hardcopy of the Data Model for their reference.
3. Anticipates the Data Model usage two weeks ahead of the developers and maps the screen shots to the Data Model (i.e. the specific tables and columns / data elements, etc.).
4. Ensures adherence to the Data Model as to naming conventions (i.e. tables, columns, etc.).
5. Stay ahead of the curve as to the developers. I.E. anticipate table usages before developers get there and have DDL, etc. ready for their use.
Batch Processes:
1. Interface with Publications / Distribution to extract business rules, calculations, record formats (headers / trailers), etc.
2. Updates / maintains requirements document(s) with the above.
3. Continue w/ BA activities resolving developer issues / questions as they arise.
CDP (Comprehensive Delivery Process:
1. Create, update, etc necessary CDP documents for the development phase.
Developer / Programmer Duties:
Senior programmer analyst familiar with Java/Websphere development for an AIX platform utilizing UDB as the database. Should be familiar with TDD (Test Driven Development) and XP (eXtreme Programming) software development methodologies. Familiar with Java, Java distributed objects, Java beans, Java servlets, J2EE, DB2/UDB, JSP. Familiarity with client's -IT Web Portal Services helpful. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
