Description
Our clients mainframe programs are dull, and more importantly, ineffective. We've convinced them they don't have to be anymore. So far, so good! Get on the fast track and leverage your big time COBOL and JAVA background. This is a high-visibility position that will touch every facet of our business and you'll help drive the technical direction of our mainframe infrastructure. Some of the primary duties include:
  • Write Develop moderate to complex mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, Natural, and JAVA.
  • Perform requirements definition and analysis for using full life-cycle development methodology.
  • Write specifications.
  • Write code.
  • Validate code of others based on specifications.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support within rotation.
  • Resolve moderate to complex system issues, with focus on elimination of recurring problems.

    Required Job Qualifications:

    This position requires a strong JAVA and COBOL technical background, with the proven capability to lead teams that have implemented and supported complex Mainframe environments. Excellent people and communications skills are an absolute requirement.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the development of moderate to complex mainframe applications using COBOL, Natural, CICS, DB2
  • Strong programming and JCL skills and knowledge of full life-cycle development methodologies a must
  • Must demonstrate strong communication skills from both technical and business perspectives
  • Demonstrated personal development through increased roles and responsibilities
  • Strong analytical, testing, debugging, and planning skills
  • Experience w/Java and Websphere

    Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Experience in Comprehensive knowledge of retail applications
  • Project management
  • Demonstrated ability to perform business analysis, preferably in the context of a large development project
