Need Java Web Developer to build new Intranet applications and modify existing Intranet applications in a midrange environment that includes Sybase ASE/IQ database backends. Work would include:
Developing program specifications/detail design documents, coding, testing, and debugging complex applications programs.
Developing prototypes from functional specifications.
Designing application sub-systems and small systems.
Assisting users in testing, training, and preparation for operations.
Working under the direction of a team leader, senior technical leader, or analyst.

Position Requirements
Familiarity with SQL, stored procedures, relational databases and J2EE Web application development on a Solaris environment.
Significant experience (2+ years) with J2EE application development using Eclipse and deploying to Websphere 5.x or 6.x.
Experience with Apache Struts framework, Spring framework, HTML, DHTML, CSS, Javascript.
Experience with UNIX environment and Shell scripting.
Experience in the application design of systems, including use of analytical techniques.
Experience in the development of functional specifications.
Understanding of object-oriented development tools and techniques
Experience in working on multiple platforms and/or with multiple technologies.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications (Experience with any/all of the following is a plus):
Java Web Services (Spring WS, Apache Axiom)
Perl
CVS, Subversion (SVN)
Sybase
MicroStrategy
SAS
.NET

Position Requirements:
Designs, plans and builds applications, Technical skills may include: OOD/OOP/Internet/Intranet Requires in-depth knowledge in one of several areas to be determined by the particular job position/function, Requires broad understanding of many technologies and their relationship to business goals and objectives ranging from end user devices, networks, distribution computing, Middleware, development tools, mainframe, security, eCommerce, system management, software engineering methodology and program management methodologies. Able to lead and influence others. Able to communicate effectively to a diverse, global technologies business community. Performs development of standards, research and participates in technical systems development initiative for review with A/Ls. Provides technical support and training to the architecture staff and assists the Project Manager in planning, organizing and controlling the activities department and in the development of the overall project plans and timetables. Helps review project architectures for compliance to company policy and standards such as, Method 1, IDP & Technical Standards, and for best use of standard technologies. Advises on systems development opportunities that can be utilized or adapted to meet business area objectives,Performs related duties as assigned or requested. Combines multiple technologies to provide alternative physical solutions. Performs analysis of business models, logical specifications and/or user requirements to design client/server open solutions
Understands various tools and technologies on the market and their appropriate usage. Exhibits ability to design an entire system configuration including hardware, software, and communications. Able to lead a tool evaluation effort, including the definition of the evaluation criteria, identification of tools to be evaluated, and the actual evaluation. Has worked on various platforms, including mainframes, minis and micros.
Able to define a total disaster recovery plan and present the customer with various options. Able to work with and manage multiple suppliers.
Able to perform as a Team Leader when necessary. At least 5 years of experience in required technology. A minimum of 5 years of experience with in-depth expertise in one or more network technologies.
