Description
BearingPoint=E2=80=99s Defense practice seeks a Programmer/Developer to support a sustainment effort for a large DoD web-based eCommerce system. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing and unit-testing enhancements and fixes to the system.

Responsibilities:
=C2=B7 Work with the Senior Software Engineer for all development efforts
=C2=B7 Code and test software systems for new features and enhancements
=C2=B7 Build and implement applications based on the business requirements
=C2=B7 Work with senior technical staff to design and implement system changes
=C2=B7 Produce and maintain design documentation
=C2=B7 Responsible for small and intermediate-level projects
=C2=B7 Implement to specifications created by Project Managers
=C2=B7 Provide status and technical expertise to Project Managers to develop project plans
=C2=B7 Review and provide input to functional specifications
=C2=B7 Maintain design documentation and work with QA engineers to identify and resolve software defects
=C2=B7 Be creative using effective problem solving skills while under the direction from engineering leads and development managers
=C2=B7 Meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
=C2=B7 Meet regularly scheduled site release dates
=C2=B7 Available to provide support for on call production demands

Requirements:
=C2=B7 2+ years of Object Oriented programming experience using C++, Java, or Python in a professional environment
=C2=B7 Applicable frameworks & IDEs: eclipse, netbeans, struts, log4j, junit
=C2=B7 Knowledgeable in the proper usage and implementation of design patterns in OO software
=C2=B7 Web based application development experience
=C2=B7 Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming design and methodologies
=C2=B7 Knowledge of Oracle or equivalent SQL database
=C2=B7 Familiarity with open source development projects using Linux
=C2=B7 Working knowledge of markup languages and scripting
=C2=B7 Programming experience in a Unix/Linux environment
=C2=B7 Bachelor=E2=80=99s degree (Math, EE or CS preferred) or equivalent work experience
=C2=B7 U.S. citizenship

Desired qualifications:
=C2=B7 3+ years work experience in design, code, debug, and deploy software
=C2=B7 Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle
