Description Software Developer needed for the portfolio management group at utility company. This group is responsible for analyzing power plant performance and they are currently working on a joint project with the IT organization. They have 2 applications they are currently using (GenTrader & GenPortal) and will be rolling these applications out to the Florida organizations in the near future. The role of the developer will include development, data management, testing, and some modifications to the existing applications if necessary. QUALIFICATIONS: * 3+yrs Java programming required * Experience using Beanshell required * Software engineering background strongly desired (as opposed to strictly application development) * 3+yrs VBA and SQL experience * Utility industry knowledge preferred (trading floor, risk analytics, portfolio optimization, generation economics, etc.) * "Nice-to-haves" would include: experience with any trading systems (Zainet for example), knowledge of Portfolio Optimization Products (Couger, GenTrader, ProSym, etc.), and load forecasting experience (Neural).
Preference will be given to candidates with 1 or more of the "nice to have" skills. Please do not submit "run of the mill" Java developers - this group is looking for specific skills.
