Programming Engineer

This is a great contract opportunity that is located here in Albuquerque, NM and is expected to last from 3-6 months. We are currently looking for someone to maintain the operational energy computer systems. The Spectrum System consists of detailed graphic displays and databases. Responsibilities will include helping transition the Spectrum System to the OSI Monarch System. Will also oversee the installation, maintenance, and utilization of software, utilities, and tools. Evaluates and recommends software, program products, and utilities.

Evaluates and recommends computer hardware for effectiveness, compatibility, and ease of use. Participates in a variety of moderately advanced, concurrent, and variable duration technical projects involving software and program products, hardware, and data communications. Recommends and develops effective tools for productivity enhancement and customer ease of use of corporate computer systems. Provides customer support for internal as well as external customers to provide problem resolution, product usage, technical education, or general technical consultation. Utilizes tools and products available to consistently monitor the effective and efficient usage of corporate storage devices such as disk or tape. Manages vendor resources when needs require vendor expertise. Forecasts corporate capacity needs and configuration changes. Identifies, documents, and adheres to CIS development standards and system software installation and maintenance standards.

Must have a Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Computer Science with five to seven years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline. Must have extensive knowledge of database system software, database application software, equipment compatibility issues, communication systems, operating system software and interfaces, Assembler language, and PC usage.
