3 Key Requirements needed for Candidates:

1. Candidate MUST have experience with commercial software development. It HAS to be new development (not just writing and modification of existing software), that has competed and been sold in the open marketplace. Company will want to know about the products that the candidate has built. The client products touch over 1 million hands a day and they expect to sell $1.14 Billion dollars of product in 2005. They currently have 35,000 install sites. Their clientele include doctors, nurses, back office insurance processors and receptionists. Most are well educated but not technically advanced and want the product to be easy and right to the point. User experience is very important.

2. Candidate needs to know Progress 9 - GUI, Windows Based (my notes say NOT a character based developer)

3. Must be willing to relocate to Gainesville.

If a candidate meets these three requirements then the client would like to see them. The client is very technically oriented and they are at the forefront in their industry. They feel they have an obligation to lead the industry and set the standard and are looking for employees who want to contribute to society and have an impact on how healthcare is delivered in this country - not just someone who is making more software.
