Senior Project Manager

We are seeking several mid - high level, experienced Project Managers for a client of ours located just outside of Washington DC. These positions are with a fast paced, dynamic organization, growing organization.


Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager will provide project management leadership to cross-functional teams within the organization. The position provides project management from within the company=E2=80=99s information technology department, including project evaluation, execution and post implementation assessment. This position provides the primary direction on projects with minimal oversight. This may include the pre-implementation activities of needs assessment, software evaluation, vendor evaluation, resource planning, budgeting and scheduling. This position may also be responsible for establishing the project scope and return on investment, project plan, managing priorities, and directing the efforts of the personnel involved with the project. The project manager will help in mitigating the project risks and is a key driver in the efforts toward successful implementation of the projects goal. This position will interact with senior management and departmental managers. In addition, the consultant may direct personnel from various departments throughout the company. This position may require minimal travel to our other company sites and other locations as determined by business needs


Duties and Responsibilities:


Develop and maintain reporting metrics that assess the project activities.

Provide expertise and guidance during system development, from conceptualization to implementation.

Communicate with management and operating groups as to project progress.

Perform project risk assessments and work with stakeholders and project teams to develop risk mitigation plans.

Manage and drive results for projects that require a high-degree of cross-organizational and system integration.

Manage project scope.

Manage project deliverables and objectives.


Experience

We are seeking mid to high level Project Managers (PM=E2=80=99s) with at least 6 years experience managing managing medium to large projects as a Project Manager.


Special Skills/Abilities


PMP Certification a plus but not required

Strong oral and written communication

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to mange effectively across all levels of the project organization.

Ability to foster a collaborative and cross-functional team across distinct business units.

Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects of varying sizes and complexities.

Proficient with Word, Excel, MS Project, Visio and PowerPointdf-tc
