Responsible for developing/leading the Balance of Plant/Extended scope estimates for Thermal Power Plant bids. Essential functions include:

- Interpret drawings, specifications, and scope documents for thorough preparation of estimates.

- Lead a cross-functional team to develop, review, and sign-off on Balance of Plants (BOP) cost estimates.

- Peer review cost estimates of other team members.

- Complete variance analysis on actual vs. budgeted amounts for BOP/extended scope.
Qualifications

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering Discipline &/or Construction Management.

- A minimum of 2 years experience preparing project estimates in power industry.

- Green Belt certification (GE employees only).

Desired

- Field experience in power industry IGCC (Combined Cycle, Simple Cycle, Pulverized Coal).

- Experience negotiating with construction sub-contractors.

- Cost estimating experience in Large Construction/Construction Management organization.

- Working knowledge of cost estimating software.

- Expert in process and techniques used for parametric cost estimating & variance analyses.

- Effective communication, interpersonal, facilitation and influencing skills.

- Multi-disciplined estimating capability (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical).
