Description
ACS Inc \ Carrollton seeks a GIS Technician to help complete an infrastructure data improvement program.

SUMMARY
The qualified applicant will be a self-motivated, conscientious individual who can work independently with minimal supervision, as well as communicate closely with City of Carrollton staff. This position requires basic knowledge regarding GIS software and concepts with the ability to quickly learn all that is required. Candidates should possess very good communication, research, and problem solving skills.

REPRESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and compare existing data to as built drawings
Discover and correct geographical and attribute errors in various feature classes
Work with geometric network and ensure data is attached
Improve methods used to accomplish the above work

EDUCATION: GIS Certificate, work towards a GIS Certificate, or equivalent work experience

REQUISITE SKILLS:

(1) Demonstrated ability with ESRI products
(2) Good organizational skills
(3) Above average interpersonal skills
(4) Good research and problem solving skills
(5) Photo interpretation skills

DESIRABLE TRAITS:

(1) Familiarity with Water, Sewer, and Storm system mapping
(2) Familiarity with engineering as built drawings of Water, Sewer, and Storm systems
(3) Experience with geo-referencing and geometric networks

TERM: 40 hours per week for up to six monthsdf-tc
