Essential Functions

Responsible for technical and commercial leadership of the GE project Engineering & Design for turn-key power plant projects, including:

Scope development.

Resource assignments.

Scoping, negotiation and management of AE engineering services.

Development and monitoring of project engineering schedule.

Engineering budget development and management.

Management reports on project status.

Final engineering responsibility and decision making on project technical (including safety) issues.

Technical and commercial coordination between GE proposals, GE engineering team, customer, consortium partner or GE architect engineer.

Execution of applicable PPE processes.

Tracking and prioritizing resolution of project action items and critical technical issues.

Integration of the customer/partner and GE engineering schedules into project schedule.

Development and management of project technical strategy to mitigate risk, including decisions involving the use of conceptual engineering judgment to allow the design process to proceed without full information.

Lead resolution of GEEN Product Department technical issues as they arise during the project.

Ensure feedback to GE ITO and other services throughout the project using the Lessons Learned Process.

Management of project technical documentation including the PPE documents, customer and partner documents, and technical correspondence.

Risk assessment of technical aspects of the project and the development and application of appropriate risk mitigation measures.

Management of GE headquarters technical support for project construction, start-up and commissioning.

Mentoring of PPE Project Engineers.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

A Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related field.

A minimum of 4 years of experience in plant engineering and design.

A minimum of 3 years of experience leading multi-discipline engineering teams.

Coal gasification experience.

Chemical plant or refinery process engineering experience.

Prior experience working with architect engineer / subcontractors.

PE certification.

Masters degree.

IT/Computer competency.

Excellent influencing & communication and presentation skills.

Demonstrated ability in meeting project budget, schedule, and quality commitments.
